What makes a House a Home?Championing individuality, flair and commitment to design, Home of the Year features homeowners around Ireland who have done something extraordinary to the place they call home.Over 8 weeks, 21 homes will compete for the Home of the Year title, with three very different properties featuring each week.From self built dream homes, to eco friendly country retreats, Home of the Year features people who have built their dream home, just the way they like it. The series showcases homes all over the country and included; a surprising Semi D, a small terraced homes with a clever interior, a converted church, an architecturally distinct flood proof home, and a family home with clever storage solutions, to name just a few.Making the tough decisions as to who goes through to the final are our three expert judges; interior design legend Hugh Wallace, award winning architect Declan O’Donnell and textiles and homewares designer Helen James.Looking for individuality, functionality and clever design, the judges individually score the homes out of 10, the home with the highest combined score, goes through to the final where the ultimate winner will be crowned.

From the makers of Celebrity Bainisteoir comes Ireland’s Fittest Family, a new primetime RTÉ One television entertainment show that will search the country for the fittest, fastest, strongest families! After physical and scientific testing, twelve families will qualify to enter the most extreme fitness competition ever.Over six weeks these elite families will compete against each other on the toughest endurance courses in the country. After each event the weakest family will be eliminated, until there’s just one family standing.The winning family will walk away with a €15k cash prize and the title of Ireland’s Fittest Family 2013.Overseeing the whole process will be four mentors, well known faces from the world of Irish sport. They will mentor the families, working with them each week on fitness, dietary plans and coaching them to elite levels! Celebrity Bainisteoir is a prime-time reality programme broadcast by RTÉ and produced by Animo Television/Kite Entertainment. Created by Fiona Looney. During and after its eight-part original run in 2008, the "hugely popular RTÉ Television tournament" was widely mentioned in the media including such newspapers such as An Phoblacht, The Belfast Telegraph, the Evening Echo, the Irish Examiner, the Irish Independent, the Irish News and The Irish Times. During the first series, a pop culture website asked its readers "If you weren’t watching Celebrity Bainisteoir last night, then where were you?"In the wake of the successful first series, the Evening Herald of Dublin reported in September 2008 that RTÉ was seeking out a new set of celebrities for a second series of Celebrity Bainisteoir set to air in summer 2009, and that a Celebrity Bainisteoir special would air during the Christmas season in 2008. The second series began on 22 March 2009.
